Toni Gonzaga opened up about her perspective on the tumultuous years of 2022 and 2023, emphasizing that despite facing challenges and criticism, she considers this period a “beautiful season” in her life.
The actress-TV host shared her insights during a candid conversation with entertainment writer Aster Amoyo, and their discussion was documented in Amoyo’s vlog on February 2.
Acknowledging the transitional and challenging nature of these years, marked by political criticism and significant career shifts, Gonzaga chose to focus on the positive aspects of her life during this period.
“Parang it was one of the most challenging, I would say, but it was one of the most beautiful seasons in my life. May beauty do’n sa chaos [at] noise na nangyari. Kasi ‘di ba, it’s a matter of how you look at things,” expressed Gonzaga.
Reflecting on the professional turbulence she faced, Gonzaga shared her belief that challenges are opportunities for growth and that everything happens for a reason. She emphasized that her experience in the entertainment industry taught her the impermanence of circumstances and the inevitability of endings.
Gonzaga revealed that her major emotional moment during 2022 and 2023 was when she received an unexpected blessing, leading to tears of gratitude. She underscored that navigating transitions is part of maturity in the industry.
“Ang major iyak ko nung 2022 and 2023 was when I get a call and it was an unexpected blessing—do’n ako naiiyak. Pero ‘yung transition, nahanda mo na yung sarili mo kasi medyo mature ka na rin sa industry.”
Recalling the discovery of her pregnancy with her second child, Polly, Gonzaga expressed gratitude for the unexpected blessing amid the chaos and negativity. Describing it as a reward from the Lord, she highlighted the manifestation of love growing inside her.
During challenging times, Gonzaga recalled initiating her YouTube channel ‘Toni Talks’ after ABS-CBN went off-air in 2020. Feeling a sense of loss when ABS-CBN lost its franchise, Gonzaga shared how her husband, Paul Soriano, encouraged her to start the channel, reminding her of her talents and the ability to dream.
Gonzaga concluded by emphasizing the importance of focusing on what remains and finding miracles in what is left, encouraging others to appreciate the blessings they have and start anew from their current position.
