On February 10, actress Nadine Lustre enjoyed portraying her ‘boyish’ role in Roadkillers.
At the media conference for Roadkillers on Viva One, which LionhearTV covered, Lustre attested to the challenges of filming her action-thriller series.
“Sobrang hirap ng conditions, just because we’re shooting outside and during that time medyo unpredictable ‘yung weather so alam mo ‘yung kapag mag-start na po kami mag-shoot na blue skies tapos biglang uulap. We kind of have to wait a bit kasi iba ‘yung lighting so ang daming beses na naka-cancel ‘yung shoots just because of the rain.”
She then recounted the long car-driving scene from the series, which she described as ‘tricky.’
“A lot of the driving parts kasi doon, especially doon sa mahabang-mahabang kalsada I was really driving, so mayroong drone shot doon na minsan sasabihan ako na bagalan mo, bilisan mo, bagalan mo. So, medyo tricky siya. But honestly, it was really fun.”
She also cited her gritty role compared to her previous projects.
“And ‘yung bagong experience ko, parang dalawang beses lang ako nagpalit ng damit sa buong show. So, contrary to my other roles, na laging malinis, dito naman po, sobrang dumi ko. Gumugulong sa dirt. Tapos ‘yun nga, what I really like is how gritty the who series is talaga.”
She then remarked how much she enjoyed taking on a ‘boyish’ role for the series.
“Tapos, I also loved how Stacey is a bit boyish. Kasi, before very feminine ‘yung mga roles ko. This time around. I really had to think ‘yung mga mannerisms na hindi usually ginagawa ng character ko or a bit boyish. So ‘yun, ‘yung bagong experience for me for this project.”
As for the series, Roadkillers stars Nadine Lustre, Jerome Ponce, Bodjie Pascua, Francis Magundayao, and Allan Paule.
Under the direction of Rae Red, Roadkillers first streamed via Prime Video in November 2023. Now, the action-thriller series revs up for Viva One starting March 1, 2024.
