Singer Mark Bautista expressed no regrets regarding his decision to come out as bisexual, emphasizing the importance of his choice to share his gender identity publicly.
Bautista, known for his candidness, disclosed details about his sexual orientation in his 2018 book titled ‘Beyond The Mark.’
In a recent interview with Karen Davila, Bautista reflected on the aftermath of his revelation and its impact on his personal and professional life.
Despite the initial shock and varied reactions, he affirmed that he stands by his decision to disclose his truth, stating, “No actually.”
Recalling the pivotal moment when news of his sexuality broke, Bautista shared his initial apprehensions and subsequent realization that it was the right path for him. He acknowledged the outpouring of responses, both positive and negative, yet reiterated his contentment with his choice, asserting, “it’s the best decision na nagawa ko, sobrang iba ang pakiramdam, no regrets no regrets.”
Bautista also expressed gratitude for the unwavering support and understanding he received from his family, particularly highlighting his mother’s unconditional love and his father’s acceptance without judgment.
Reflecting on his journey, Bautista emphasized the importance of acceptance and authenticity, stating, “I’m still thankful na nalagpasan ko ‘yung phase ng buhay ko na ‘yun na masasabi ko talaga na even with my friends, sobrang we can just talk about anything under the sun na mag jo-joke joke na kami ng wala nang pretentions,” and expressing satisfaction in the evolving acceptance from friends and supporters.
