On February 13, director Law Fajardo shared his reason for creating the story of Kabit.
At the media conference for the Vivamax movie Kabit, which LionhearTV covered, Fajardo remarked that he wanted to show the essence of entertainment.
“Ang pinaka-core kung bakit ko ginawa ‘to, kasi everyone thinks na ang paggawa ng bold movie, ng ganitong movie, marami kayong nakikita na totoo ba ‘yun, parang ang daming natatanong na naghubad ba talaga sila, may plaster ba o wala, ganito-ganito.
“Ginawa ko ‘to because for me, ang essence ng entertainment, ng theater, ng film, ay this is all about theater, teatro lahat ng ito. And this, pinapakita lang namin, sini-simulate lang namin lahat ng bagay na ‘to. So, that’s why ito ‘yung ginawa ko, ito ‘yung focus ko.”
He also wanted to tackle the abuse of culture and how it connects to people’s passion for their craft.
“So lahat ‘to ay fake, lahat to ay simulation so that’s why reflexive siya.
“Ang pinaka-essence ay ‘yung– rape ng kultura, rape ng kultura, ito ‘yung subject na gusto namin ipakita. Ever since kung ano ‘yung nangyayari before ay mangyayari in the future. As in marami siyang kwento.
“Even if you search kung ano talaga ‘yung kabit, the deeper meaning na gusto kong gawin is ‘yung nakakabit ‘yung passion mo, nakakabit ‘yung–sa part ng role ni Angela, is nakakabit sa kaniya ‘yung passion niya.
“Na ‘yung core ko as a human, as an artist, is ‘yung katulad nga noong sinabi sa pelikula, ‘Na hindi ako robot, hindi ako robot, hindi ako sunod-sunuran. At the end of the day, I have a dream na gusto kong gawin like everyone na gusto nilang i-attain ‘yung gusto nila in life.”
As for their upcoming Vivamax movie, Kabit stars Angela Morena, Victor Relosa, Josef Elizalde, Dyessa Garcia, and Onyl Torres.
Under the direction of Law Fajardo, Kabit streams on February 23 via the Vivamax streaming platform.
