On February 15, actor Jerome Ponce shared his views about virtual reality and futuristic concepts.
At the media event for A Glimpse of Forever, which LionhearTV covered, Ponce remarked that too much advancement in technology impacts livelihoods and passions, especially for artists.
“Same, same, hindi ako masyadong fan ng too much futuristic. It kills jobs. It kills hobbies, schools, and everything. So ‘yun.”
As for his upcoming project, Ponce hinted at some of the twists and details they have in store for A Glimpse of Forever.
“Actually, when we were shooting this di ko masyado na feel ‘yung pagka-sci-fi. Actually, modern na ‘yung ano dito, lalo na ‘yung Apple Vision Pro, nandito rin ‘yun, the VR, lahat ‘yun nangyayari. So, maganda lang talaga ‘yung situation na gusto ko i-spoil sana. Ang ganda noong pagkabali ng alam mo ‘yun, ‘yung future possibilities. So, ayun po, first time-first time for a sci-fi po.”
Ponce portrays a man filled with social anxiety who operates a virtual reality avatar on a dating app.
After discussing his role, he highlighted how he got inspired by his character’s journey in overcoming his social anxiety.
As for his upcoming romantic sci-fi movie, A Glimpse of Forever stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Jerome Ponce, and Diego Loyzaga.
Under the direction and story of Jason Paul Laxamana, A Glimpse of Forever opens on March 6 in cinemas nationwide.
