While an official figure from Black Sheep, the film’s production company, has yet to be released, reports indicate a strong turnout for the actor’s return to the big screen.
The comedy, which follows the misadventures of Luis Carpio (portrayed by Gil) during a trip to Thailand with his friends, garnered attention for its unique storyline and Gil’s performance. The plot revolves around Carpio’s mistaken identity as a famous pornstar known as Big Bird, leading to a series of humorous and chaotic situations.
Despite facing stiff competition and a restrictive R16 rating from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), ‘I Am Not Big Bird’ managed to attract audiences, signaling a potential resurgence in cinema attendance following the success of the MMFF 2023.
