On February 2, Kapamilya actor Enrique Gil recounted how he and Liza Soberano agreed to promote each other’s film.
At the media conference for I’m Not Big Bird, which LionhearTV covered, Gil explained that Soberano’s comment on the trailer of his upcoming film happened because they agreed to support each other’s projects.
“Hindi, siyempre, nagkausap kami kasi, I mean gumawa din ako ng promo for her movie Lisa Frankenstein, which I hope guys sana mapanood ninyo din ‘yung Lisa Frankenstein.
“So ako rin naman, sabi ko, tulungan mo ko, kahit isang ano lang statement doon sa trailer. So ‘yun.”
He then detailed how Soberano came up with the idea of commenting ‘Hello Big Bird’ on the trailer of his film.
“‘Yun ‘yung sinabi niya. ‘Yun ang sinabi niya, ‘Hello, Big Bird.’ Sabi ko, okay ‘yan. Lagay na natin sa trailer. Sabi ko nga simple lang kahit one liner lang. Kahit, ‘Hello, Big Bird.’ Okay na ‘yun.”
Despite pursuing solo careers with I’m Not Big Bird and Lisa Frankenstein, Gil, and Soberano continue to support each other.
Gil later addressed whether he’s open to having another on-screen partner on future projects.
“Of course, my door is always open. Yeah, hahanapin lang ‘yung susi, joke lang, joke lang. I’m also open naman, but as of the moment, I’m really choosing the stuff I’ve always wanted to do na di ko pa nagawa dati. Kasi, marami na po talaga ako nagawa, but I want to do things that excite me this time, something different that I’ve never done.”
I’m Not Big Bird stars Enrique Gil, Nikko Natividad, Pepe Herrera, and Red Ollero.
Under the direction of Victor Villanueva and a story written by Lilit Reyes and Joma Labayen, I’m Not Big Bird opens in cinemas starting February 14.
