Dominic Roque has refuted a fabricated quote circulating online that wrongly attributes to him advice advising men against selecting women who prioritize wealth over love.
On Wednesday, February 21, Roque took to his Facebook page to share a screenshot of the misleading post, originating from an account named “Philippines No. 1.”
The post featured a photo of Roque accompanied by a fabricated statement purportedly cautioning men against seeking women dependent on wealth. The false quote implied that Roque had learned a lesson from this experience.
“Dominic Roque, nagpost sa X ng paalala sa mga boys na ‘wag hahanap ng babae na dumidepende sa yaman,” read the caption of the fabricated quote card.
Roque promptly denounced the false information, emphatically stating on his page, “FAKE NEWS!! FAKE NEWS!!! FAKE NEWS!!!”
Supportive fans rallied behind Roque, urging him to remain resilient in the face of baseless allegations and fabrications.
Earlier, Roque’s legal representatives released an official statement refuting “malicious innuendos” circulated by showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin regarding his sexuality. Fermin’s social media vlogs purportedly insinuated Roque’s involvement with a politician benefactor, allegedly linked to his breakup with actress Bea Alonzo.
Following Fermin’s claims, speculation arose linking Dapitan Mayor Bullet Jalosjos and former Quezon City congressman Bong Suntay to the allegations. However, Fermin clarified that she had not implicated any specific individuals in her vlogs and expressed no intention of apologizing to Roque or the politicians implicated.
