Daniel Padilla’s mother, Karla Estrada, reaffirmed her son’s unwavering loyalty to ABS-CBN, emphasizing his commitment to remain with the network for the long haul, regardless of challenges faced.
During the contract signing event with Star Magic on Monday, February 12, Estrada conveyed her heartfelt congratulations to Padilla, expressing the family’s joy in upholding their promise to ABS-CBN amidst the network’s adversities.
“Anak, walang hanggang congratulations. Kami, ang buong angkan mo, ay talagang masayang-masaya dahil sa pagtupad natin—at syempre sa pagtupad din ng ating mga salita simula nung nangyari sa ABS-CBN ito,” she addressed Padilla directly during the event.
Estrada reminisced about a conversation where she assured Padilla that they would never abandon ABS-CBN, a vow witnessed by ABS-CBN executive Cory Vidanes.
“Yes, hindi [natinag] kahit kailan si Daniel na aalis sa ABS-CBN. Kaya hanggang pag-tanda, anak, kasama mo siya,” Estrada affirmed, highlighting Padilla’s steadfast dedication.
Providing advice to her son, Estrada encouraged him to confront challenges head-on, reminding him to find happiness in his pursuits and entrust everything to the Lord.
“Anuman ang dadaanan mo, kalsada mo ‘yan. Galingan mo ‘yan at ang importante ay masaya ka dyan, anak,” she added, urging him to remain steadfast in his faith. “Lahat ng gagawin mo ay ialay mo sa Panginoon at hinding-hindi ka magkakamali. I love you.”
In addition to Estrada, Padilla’s sister, Magui Ford, and their cousin, child actor Jordan Lim, attended the contract signing event, showing solidarity with Padilla’s decision.
Padilla also expressed gratitude to his family, loved ones, ABS-CBN executives, and his ex-girlfriend, Kathryn Bernardo, who also renewed her contract with Star Magic few days ago, marking a significant moment for both their careers and their continued association with ABS-CBN.
