The new record effectively erases Senior High‘s record of 6.7, for the highest people rating achieved by a Kapamilya show airing on that timeslot, since the ABS-CBN free TV shutdown.
Can’t Buy Me Love made history on Tuesday, February 20, by setting the highest people rating by a Kapamilya show airing on the third primetime slot. Pulling off a very impressive 6.8 people rating, the DonBelle-starrer trumped previous record-holder, Senior High, which set the previous record of 6.7 people ratings on its finale episode, aired on January 19, 2024.
It can be recalled, Can’t Buy Me Love did not retain its original time slot of 8:45 PM (right after FPJ’s Batang Quiapo), when a new show, the teleserye version of the Prime Video hit, Linlang, debuted and occupied the DonBelle-starrer’s slot.

Can’t Buy Me Love, meanwhile moved to a later timeslot, at 9:30 PM, the slot vacated by Senior High. The moved initially faced criticisms and objections from loyal fans of the show, who mostly found the new time slot of their new show, very late for young audiences.
It turned out the move, however, was ideal, as both Linlang The Teleserye Version and Can’t Buy Me Love both performed strongly on their respective time slots. It’s even wiser for the Star Creatives show, as it delivered a new post-shutdown high on its time slot.
