Veteran TV host Boy Abunda addressed the speculation surrounding the breakup between Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque.
During ‘Fast Talk With Boy Abunda’ aired on Tuesday, February 6, Abunda confirmed the split and cautioned against hastily placing blame on Alonzo for the relationship’s demise, particularly in light of her previous romantic involvements with actors Gerald Anderson and Zanjoe Marudo.
Abunda highlighted the danger of perpetuating a narrative that portrays Alonzo as the common denominator in failed relationships, calling such judgments “very judgmental.” He urged viewers to exercise restraint and empathy, emphasizing the importance of understanding the nuances and complexities of personal relationships.
To me, napaka-judgmental po non.”
The seasoned host stressed that the focus should not be on Alonzo being the sole problem in her relationships. Instead, he pointed out that, based on his understanding, Alonzo had been actively trying to salvage her relationship with Roque. Abunda underscored Alonzo’s desire to make the relationship work, encouraging observers to consider the broader context before passing judgment.
“Yes, you and I have the right to comment. Yes, you and I have the freedom of speech, pero ako I appeal for kindness. What do we really know about this relationship? Do we know the nuances? Alam ba talaga natin ang detalye?,” he added.
“The narrative is not about Bea ang problema kaya sila naghiwalay. Sa pagkakaalam ko ito diretsahan, si Bea gusto ma-save ang relasyon na ito. Si Bea wants this to work.”
Moreover, Abunda came to Roque’s defense, condemning derogatory remarks aimed at him. He decried comments suggesting Roque’s perceived inadequacies, labeling them as “cruel.”

In his plea for kindness and prudence, Abunda reminded audiences of their right to express opinions but urged them to do so with sensitivity and compassion.
Abunda also hinted that if Alonzo and Roque reconcile, any wedding plans would likely be postponed.
Meanwhile, amidst the personal challenges she faces, Alonzo remains committed to her professional endeavors. She is currently preparing for her upcoming Kapuso series ‘Widows’ War,’ marking her first collaboration with actress Carla Abellana.
