Kapuso actor Alden Richards is set to embark on a new chapter in his career, as he prepares to take on a darker role in the upcoming drama ‘Pulang Araw.’
This departure from his usual good-boy image has fans buzzing with excitement.
During a recent interview with Cata Tibayan on the prime time news program ’24 Oras,’ Alden shared insights into his character and discussed his directorial debut film.
Describing his character as “dirty, bad boy, troublemaker,” Alden expressed enthusiasm for the role, signaling a significant departure from his typically clean-cut image.
In a lighthearted manner, Alden joked, “Tama na tayo sa goody-goody, na ang linis-linis.”
Beyond his acting endeavors, Alden remains committed to his advocacy work. He is deeply involved in his AR Foundation, which provides support to underprivileged children for their education. With 25 scholars under his foundation, including five college graduates, Alden is dedicated to nurturing the future of these young individuals.
He stressed the importance of not taking the future of children for granted, highlighting the significant achievements of his scholars, such as one graduate becoming the head of the Santa Rosa SK League.
Alden is also gearing up for a medical mission in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund), demonstrating his commitment to philanthropy and community service.
Additionally, audiences can anticipate Alden’s upcoming film ‘Out of Order,’ where he not only takes on the lead role but also serves as the director. The film promises to explore themes of family, friendship, and inclusivity, with a focus on the LGBTQIA+ community.
