In a recent interview, veteran actor Aga Muhlach opened up about Vice Ganda’s expressed desire for his son, Andres Muhlach, to join the hosting team of ‘It’s Showtime.’
During his appearance on the program ‘Cristy Ferminute,’ hosted by Cristy Fermin and Romel Chika, Aga shared insights into his children’s entry into the entertainment industry.
“Gusto nila, eh. Siguro ‘yun ang nakita nilang buhay namin habang lumalaki sila,” Aga stated, suggesting that his children might have been inspired by their upbringing to pursue showbiz careers.
He revealed that before his twins, Andres and Atasha Muhlach, ventured into the limelight, he had already briefed them on the challenges and realities of the entertainment world.
“Naiipaliwanag ko naman sa kanila na (while) growing up na at some point you decide to enter the industry or the entertainment world na huwag ninyong tingnan ‘yung ‘glitz and glamour’ because behind that is all fake and hard work and dedication,” Aga shared, emphasizing the importance of understanding the industry’s nuances beyond its surface allure.
Moreover, Aga mentioned the commendations his children received from former senator Tito Sotto, highlighting their humility and commendable upbringing.
“Puring-puri ni Kuya Tito at ni Ate Helen ang mga anak mo, si Atasha at ang sabi raw ay hinihintay niya ang tinapa rice na iluluto ni Ate Helen. Ang bait na bata napaka-low profile, very humble. Maganda raw ang palaki ninyo kina Atasha at Andres,” Cristy Fermin recounted, echoing the praises heaped upon the Muhlach twins.
Regarding Vice Ganda’s proposal for Andres to join the ‘It’s Showtime’ roster, Aga expressed uncertainty, indicating that he preferred his son to make the decision independently.
“Hindi ko po alam talaga, unang-una natutuwa ako kay Vice nu’ng iniinterbyu niya ako, sabi ko sa kanya, ‘ikaw magsabi (kay Andres), imbitahin mo.’ Hindi ako ang nagde-desisyon talaga, sa totoo lang. Pinalaki ko sila na magdesisyon sila ng (para) sa sarili nila,” Aga stated, underscoring his belief in his children’s autonomy.
Aga’s response implies that if Vice Ganda’s invitation to Andres is genuine, it would be up to the young Muhlach to decide whether to accept the offer to join ‘It’s Showtime.’
