On January 12, actress Yassi Pressman remarked that she felt overwhelmed getting the lead role in an international collaboration film between Philippines and South Korea.
At the media event for the upcoming movie The Guardian, which LionhearTV covered, Pressman cthe onsidered the project a blessing for her career.
“Overwhelming siyempre po, ang dami pong mga pangyayari ang nangyari sa buhay ko na it has just been a blessing over blessing over blessing talagang pag-iigihan ko po talaga and I will always do my best.”
She also expressed excitement about taking on the upcoming project.
“Very, very excited po. Napaka laking blessing po talaga nito. ‘Yun, I can’t say too much about it, pero sana abangan po ninyo. Sana po suportahan po ninyo. And sana ma-enjoy po ninyo.”
She also hinted at the amount of action scenes they would have in The Guardian.
“Punong-puno po siya ng action for sure. Opo siyempre po, punong-puno rin po ng puso, may action po. Katulad nga po ng nakita natin di ba?”
Pressman also detailed the audition process for the lead role in the South Korean-Philippine movie collaboration.
“Wala po kasi talaga silang sinabi, ang sinabi lang po nila talaga, ‘do your best.’ So sabi ko, teka lang, pano kaya ang gagawin ko. Parang na-pressure lang po ako. Siguro ang sinabi lang nila after is natuwa po sila na ako na mismo ang nag-try na maipakita lahat.”
After that, she hinted at her upcoming projects for 2024 aside from The Guardian and Black Rider.
“Mayroon pa nga po eh, isa pa po ‘yung napakalaking blessing, na I’m very grateful for po, pero di ko pa po pwedeng sabihin sa ngayon. Focus lang po muna dito at siyempre iba-balance ko po sa Black Rider. Habang nagte-taping po kami ng Black Rider so ‘yun po.”
As for her upcoming Philippine-Korean movie, The Guardian stars Pinoy actors Yassi Pressman, Wilbert Ross, and Jeric Raval with Ashtine Olviga, Eric Ejercito, Joko Diaz, and Heart Ryan. The film also features South Korean actors Nam Woo-Hyun, Han Jae-Seok, and Park Eun-Hye.
Under the direction of Jeong Jang-Hwan, The Guardian is currently in production, with the Korean and Filipino teams planning to film for 17 days.
The Guardian is a collaboration between South Korea and the Philippines, with Parallax Studio, Viva Films, and Ovation Productions as the local producers.
