On January 17, young artist Xia Vigor remarked how thankful she was that her mom took them to Mindoro amid the pandemic.
At the media conference for Itutumba ka ng Tatay Ko, which LionhearTV covered, Vigor said her mom’s decision allowed her to enjoy her life in the province.
“Well, actually, after po ng Miracle in Cell No. 7, noong nag-pandemic po, nag-decide ‘yung mommy ko na pumunta muna kami ng province, which is I’m very grateful sa decision niya na ‘yun. Kasi, parang noong bata kasi siya, may mga experiences siya like climbing trees, na nakapag-bike ka around the village, ‘yung mga ganon.
“Tapos tabing dagat din ‘yung bahay namin sa Mindoro. So sobrang grateful ako na during the pandemic na nandoon kami. COVID-free ‘yung village na ‘yun and naranasan ko ‘yung to be outside movies and the industry for a little while. And marami akong natutunan sa decision na ginawa na ‘yun ni Mommy.”
She then recounted telling her mom about her decision to return to acting.
“Pero, after ilang years din kaming nag-stay doon, my mom asked me kung gusto ko pa mag-artista or we could just go back to England and mag-school na lang ako doon, and sinabi ko sa kaniya na hilig ko talaga and passion ko ‘yung acting and being part of the industry.”
She noted how being an actor gives her the platform to inspire others and the youth.
“And alam ko din na pagka-actor ka, mas nabibigyan ka ng voice or ng influence sa social media ganon. So gusto kong i-take ‘yung opportunity ko na ‘to na may mga platform ako na to inspire other people and youth. Sana ngayon, magtuloy-tuloy na, may mga movies na natapos at may mga projects po ulit.”
As for their project, Itutumba ka ng Tatay Ko stars Janno Gibbs and Xia Vigor with Anjo Yllana, Louise Delos Reyes, Juliana Parizcova Segovia, and Ronaldo Valdez.
