In a momentous announcement made during a live session on Friday, January 5, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, collectively known as TVJ, joyfully revealed that the Marikina court has ruled in their favor regarding the ownership of the name ‘Eat Bulaga.’
Vic Sotto shared the news, mentioning that Tito received an email in the afternoon containing the court’s decision.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Vic expressed gratitude and announced, “Sa madaling salita, nanalo po tayo.”
Tito Sotto enthusiastically declared, “Tayo po ang may-ari ng ‘Eat Bulaga.’”
Expressing their deep appreciation for the unwavering support and prayers they received, Tito Sotto added, “Maraming salamat po sa inyong pagtangkilik. Maraming salamat sa mga dasal.”
Following the announcement, the trio jubilantly sang the iconic theme song of ‘Eat Bulaga.’
This triumph comes after the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) previously ruled in favor of TVJ regarding the trademarks ‘Eat Bulaga’ and ‘EB,’ canceling TAPE Inc.’s trademark registration for these names.
A day earlier, Joey de Leon had teased the audience about an exciting development to be revealed on Saturday. He hinted, “Bubulagain kayo nang doble-doble sa Sabado, 11:30am!” Fans speculated about a potential appearance on CNN Philippines or RPN-9, especially considering Joey’s T-shirt featuring the number 9.
The forthcoming revelation may also involve the use of the ‘Eat Bulaga’ trademark in their show. Fans eagerly await further details during Saturday’s broadcast.
