The film ‘Rewind,’ featuring the real-life couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, has secured its place as the highest-grossing Filipino film to date.
As of Friday, the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival entry has raked in an impressive worldwide gross of P889 million, according to reports from Star Cinema.
This achievement surpasses the previous record held by ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye,’ starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, which earned P880 million during its release in 2019.
Expressing gratitude, Star Cinema acknowledged the overwhelming support from audiences worldwide in a social media post: “Damang-dama namin ang greatest love niyo all over the world!”
‘Rewind’ continues to maintain its robust presence, currently in its fifth week, across more than 270 cinemas in various locations, including the Philippines, United Arab Emirates, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Guam, and Saipan.
The film’s success marks a significant milestone in Philippine cinema, highlighting the compelling storyline and outstanding performances of its lead actors.
