Talent manager and comedian Ogie Diaz has offered his perspective on the recent uproar surrounding the disclosed talent fee of actor Ian Veneracion.
Responding to writer-director Ronaldo Carballo’s revelations about Veneracion’s fee for a Tarlac parade, Ogie Diaz presented a straightforward viewpoint.
Ogie emphasized the simplicity of the situation, asserting that if someone finds Ian Veneracion’s requested amount of 500,000 pesos for a 2-hour parade unaffordable, they should refrain from securing his services and consider alternative options.
“Nakakalokah yung hindi mo lang kinaya yung presyo ni Ian Veneracion na 500k for 2 hours na parada, ipo-post na sa facebook?”
He framed it as a basic business transaction, where individuals have the right to explore other possibilities if the budget doesn’t align with the actor’s asking price.
“Juice ko, ang simple lang ng argumento — kung hindi kaya ang presyo, eh di wag kunin. Humanap ng iba. Deal nila ‘yon. Kung paanong karapatan din ng mga promoter or producer kung kukunin nila o hahanap ng iba,” commented Ogie Diaz.
He also posed a hypothetical scenario, questioning whether Ian Veneracion’s management would publicize a lower rate offer they rejected. Ogie Diaz humorously added that if such a scenario occurred, he might even assist in criticizing those involved.
While expressing gratitude for individuals who comprehend the complexities of the entertainment industry, Ogie Diaz also critiqued those who choose to remain uninformed. He underscored the importance of respecting professional rates and handling negotiations with fairness and respect.
Ogie Diaz acknowledged the significance of confidentiality in such matters and thanked netizens who understand the intricacies of the entertainment industry.
