It turned out the timeslot-shuffling was an excellent choice for both Linlang and Can’t Buy Me Love, as the two shows went on to dominate their respective timeslots on primetime.
Just a day after its much-talked about and record-breaking free TV premiere, Linlang The Teleserye Version soared higher in the ratings game, on its second day, logging a 9.9 people rating versus rival show, Love.Die.Repeat.’s 7.4 (linear telecast), according to Nielsen Philippines. That effectively erased the record it set the previous day, when it posted a 9.0 people rating, the highest among piloting ABS-CBN show on the second primetime slot, since the ABS-CBN franchise denial.
More spectacularly, the new record also obliterated the 9.7 people rating, set by Can’t Buy Me Love, for the highest TV rating recorded by a Kapamilya show on the said timeslot, post-shutdown. The Iron Heart, also notably held this record with a 9.4 peak people rating.
Linlang first charmed viewers globally, via its Prime Video debut, last year.
Eclipsing Linlang‘s success on terrestrial television, Star Creative Productions’ Can’t Buy Me Love, which moved from second to third primetime slot, similarly thrives on its new timeslot. On second day, its people rating jumped to 6.0 from 4.6, a 30% improvement overnight. Such a figure is yet to outperform its predecessor, Senior High‘s 6.7 peak people rating, but it is worth noting that the show is already outperforming the average rating registered by previous shows.
ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida seems poised to further expand in viewership, with the rising ratings of Linlang and Can’t Buy Me Love. Meanwhile, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, continues to top all entertainment TV programs in the country.
