Kapamilya stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino revealed that they have tested positive for COVID-19.
The announcement was made during a virtual media conference for the teleserye version of their hit series ‘Linlang,’ as the actors continue to work on the Filipino adaptation of the popular South Korean series ‘What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.’
Despite their health setbacks, both Chiu and Avelino conveyed their enthusiasm for the upcoming ‘Linlang: The Teleserye Version,’ scheduled to premiere on January 22. Apologizing for their absence at the physical event, the actors expressed their desire to engage with their fans despite the challenges they are currently facing.
“Buhay pa rin po ang COVID kaya tinamaan po kaming dalawa. Gusto nga namin na makasama namin kayo diyan, kaya lang ito lang ang nakayanan namin”, Chiu shared during the virtual conference.
Chiu, maintaining her sense of humor despite her health condition, anticipated the passionate discussions and reactions that would likely surround the teleserye, stating, “Mas iinit pa ang mga ulo nila at mas iinit pa ang social media. Sana i-enjoy niyo ang teleserye version. Let’s go!”
‘Linlang: The Teleserye Version,’ produced by ABS-CBN and Dreamscape, initially premiered on Prime Video, where it consistently secured top positions in the charts. The series boasts an ensemble cast, including JM de Guzman, Kaila Estrada, Maricel Soriano, Ruby Ruiz, Jaime Fabregas, and Heaven Peralejo.
Despite their current health challenges, Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino assured their fans of their unwavering commitment to the success of ‘Linlang: The Teleserye Version.’ The series is set to be available on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, TFC, A2Z, and TV5 starting January 22.
