The best part of this affectionate situational comedy is the ‘kilig’ shared by its lead stars, that thrives alongside its heartfelt comedy.
After a year since its maiden season bade adieu on air, GMA Network’s kilig-rich sitcom, starring the Kapuso Royal Couple, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera a.k.a. DongYan, is back. The combo of laughter and romance is now doubled. but so is the challenge that Jose (Dantes) and Maria (Rivera) now have to face. After meeting their quota of ₱500,000 in the first season, the couple is now faced with a doubled quota of ₱1,000,000 for their BnB business, and they’re up for it! However, a competition with a similar business looms, and the rivalry may be trickier than Jose and Maria might expect.
The new season adds to its roster of comedians TiktoClock host and seasoned actress, Pokwang. as Tiffany, whose own BnB business will challenge Jose and Maria’s head-to-head. Peko, Benjie Paras, and Hershey Neri, are still part of this brand new season. Apart from the ‘doubling’, thes series will also feature a reversal of roles, with Jose assuming the ability of seeing ghosts, Maria.
The first season gave us, somewhat a glimpse to the Kapuso royal couple’s knack at comedy, and now with this season, there is a promise of them taking it up a notch. That is not to say the lovely chemistry they showcased in the debut season will be missing in this new one, because if anything, it still remains front and center. Still teeming with palpable warmth and vibrant humor, the new season promises a continution to Jose and Maria’s story with heartfelt humor still overflowing, and alongside it , colorful and chuckle-filled adventures that will surely endear the heart.
Directed by seasoned comedian and director, John Lapus, Jose and Maria’s Bonggang Villa airs on GMA Network’s Saturday primetime line up, at 6:15 PM.
