The revelation of actor Ian Veneracion’s substantial talent fee for public appearances during provincial festivals has stirred discussions and raised eyebrows within the entertainment industry.
Director Ronaldo Carballo took to social media to share his insights on what he considers an extravagant fee for a relatively brief public appearance.
In a recent Facebook post, Carballo unveiled the details he uncovered about Veneracion’s talent fee, particularly for his upcoming participation in the Tarlac Festival. The actor is scheduled to ride a float and greet the crowd in Tarlac City during the festival.
According to Carballo, Veneracion’s manager quoted an astounding fee of half a million pesos for a two-hour appearance in the parade. If the actor extends beyond the agreed two hours, an additional charge of P100,000 per hour is imposed. Additionally, Veneracion is expected to have a solo float, without any other accompanying artists.
Carballo emphasized that a 50% down payment is required upon signing the contract, and the full payment must be settled before the actor boards the float. While the director acknowledged the smooth payment process with Veneracion’s team in previous engagements, he expressed reservations about the high cost and additional charges for extended hours.
The director promptly reported the details to the organizers of the Tarlac Festival, initiating discussions about the feasibility of the arrangement. The production team voiced concerns about potential issues, particularly if Veneracion were to leave the float after the agreed two hours, considering the significant additional cost.
In response to the concerns raised, Veneracion’s team reportedly agreed to reduce the fee to a fixed P500,000 for the entire parade. However, the production opted to explore alternative artists and eventually considered Piolo Pascual as a potential replacement.
Carballo shared his perspective on the matter, questioning the appropriateness of the P500,000 fee for a parade appearance, especially given the actor’s limited engagement. He pondered the significant cost for what essentially amounts to a waving activity during a parade.
As of the latest update, there has been no official response or reaction from Ian Veneracion’s camp regarding the issue.
