On December 29, Kapuso star Herlene Budol revealed her plans to release the single ‘Kain Tayo’ after the viral issue involving her and ‘Magandang Dilag’ co-star Rob Gomez.
Budol posted a photo of her vocal training with Kumusikero Music Worship Tutorial via her Instagram account.
She captioned the photo, thanking her previous talent manager, Wilbert Tolentino.
“Thank you Mima ko @sirwil75. Yung kht indi na cya Manager ko pero andyan parin cya thru thick & thin at pinupush nya ako mag voice lesson at classmate ko narin si Little KaFreshness Willard King Tolentino.”
She then cited her experience with the musical training under Kumusikero.
“Masaya pala ang Musika. Yung may assesment ng coach ko si @kimusikero ng Jazz, Pop, Ballad, Blues, Rock, Hip hop, Classical, Electro, New age, Reggae atbp.”
Finally, she highlighted her upcoming single for 2024, ‘Kain Tayo.’
“Ciempre Abangan ang bagong Single na ilalabas ko sa 2024 – “KAIN TAYO.”
For context, her upcoming song ‘Kain Tayo’ refers to Budol’s recent viral intrigue wherein an alleged text message between her and her co-star Gomez leaked on social media. The exchange suggested a noticeable intimate nature between the ‘Magandang Dilag’ co-stars. One of the memorable terms in that said message was ‘Kain na.’
Aside from Budol, Bianca Manalo, who starred in the same Kapuso afternoon serye, also became part of the issue.
Budol isn’t the first Filipino celebrity to capitalize on viral issues or intrigue and make a song out of it.
Some recent examples include Michael V (Bitoy), who joined the viral craze of ‘Lugaw is Essential’ in 2021, creating the song ‘Essential Lang.’ Another example is the Kapamilya star Kim Chiu, who went viral during the pandemic and lockdowns in 2020 because of the term ‘Bawal Lumabas,‘ which she capitalized on and released a song and a movie of the same title.
