On January 19, Kapuso stars Gabby Concepcion and Max Collins discussed what it was like working with Firefly director Zig Dulay in their upcoming GMA Network series My Guardian Alien.
At the GMA Regional TV media event for Sinulog 2024, which LionhearTV covered, Concepcion complimented Dulay’s cinematography for their upcoming Kapuso series.
“‘Yung atake kasi ni Zig, pang pelikula. So maganda ito, ‘yung mga effects hindi lang sa CG, pati yung mga shots. Kung may isi-CG doon magagaling talaga ‘yun kasi ‘yun ang pinaka ugat noon. And this is also the first time I’m working with Zig.”
Collins agreed with Concepcion, noting her experience working with the director in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 Best Picture film Firefly.
“I’ve worked with Direk Zig before pero sa mga guesting lang.
“I was fortunate enough to work with Direk Zig sa Firefly as well. And then dito sa show na ‘to, My Guardian Alien, and katulad ng sinabi ni Gabby, napakaganda ng mga shots ni Direk Zig, he’s very meticulous with his shots.”
Concepcion then cited Dulay’s rigorous process behind the camera while taping for My Guardian Alien.
“Napakatagal mag shoot dahil paulit-ulit, mayroong full shot, tapos mayroong medium shot, tapos may tight shot, tapos may close up. Bawat eksena, uulitin nanaman, same line same sequence, pero parang pelikula nga.”
Collins regarded Dulay’s meticulous process and attention to detail with each scene.
“Even ‘yung effects natin di ba, he’s [very] meticulous sa effects. So you know that it [was] done with so much love and so much attention detail.”
Earlier, GMA Sparkle Artists Jennylyn Mercado (Love. Die. Repeat), Gabby Concepcion, Max Collins (My Guardian Alien), Myrtle Sarrosa, Kristoffer Martin, Royce Cabrera, Teejay Marquez (Makiling), Ken Chan, Kazel Kinouchi (Abot Kamay na Pangarap), Kate Valdez, and Joaquin Domagoso celebrated the Sinulog 2024 in Cebu City from January 19 to January 21 with Kapuso Cebuanos.
As for My Guardian Alien, the Kapuso series stars Marian Rivera, Gabby Concepcion, and Max Collins.
