On January 5, Kapuso stars Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio highlighted how easy it was for them to work together as a real-life couple.
At the media conference for ‘Makiling,’ which LionhearTV covered, Villanueva highlighted the advantages of working with her real-life beau in the Kapuso series.
“Fortunately, madali po siya para sa akin. Wala pa naman po akong disadvantage na nakikita, except sa maghihintayan pa kami kapag hindi pa tapos ‘yung eksena.
“So, I think malaking advantage po kasi we’re very open with each other. We are very straight forward in terms of our work. So kapag may nakikita kaming mali sa isa’t-isa, sasabihin namin kahit hurtful siya. So, there’s room for improvement din po for us two.”
Monasterio admitted that he felt concerned with his girlfriend whenever Villanueva did the physically demanding scenes required in the revenge-serye.
“Ang disadvantage lang po siguro is naapektuhan po ako kapag nakikita ko siyang sinasaktan. Kahit halimbawa, kapag pauwi kami, galing siya sa iyakan, galing siya sa binubugbog siya, tapos makikita mo sa kaniya, ‘yung mukha niya parang umiiyak, tapos gulo-gulo ‘yung hair niya, tapos ako as a protector sa show, and protector in real life, masakit po sa akin ‘yun.
“Hindi po kasi, ibang klase ‘yung show na ‘to, napaka-creative ng ways ng pambu-bully dito. Hindi lang siya basta ‘yung highschool pambu-bully.”
As a partner, Monasterio remarked that he tries to cheer up Villanueva through acts of love whenever they’re at home.
“Honestly, bumabawi talaga ako sa kaniya pag pauwi na kami. Unli-utos, pwede mo akong utusan kahit ano gagawin ko, ipagluluto ko siya in the morning. And I try to make her life easier.”
