Carmina Villarroel has candidly shared her stance on her children’s romantic lives, emphasizing that she refrains from meddling in their relationships.
The actress addressed this during an emotional segment on the January 6 episode of ‘Sarap, ‘Di Ba?’ where she shared heartfelt moments with her son Mavy.
As Mavy celebrated his 23rd birthday alongside his twin sister, Cassy Legaspi, Carmina took the opportunity to convey a sincere message to her children. She clarified that she supports whoever her children choose to be in a relationship with, emphasizing qualities like respect, genuineness, and sincerity.
Carmina also touched upon Mavy’s past relationship with Kyline Alcantara, making it clear that she did not interfere in their romantic involvement. Netizens had previously accused Carmina of meddling in Mavy’s love life, but the actress dismissed these claims during the emotional segment.
Expressing her emotions, Carmina stated, “Tatay and I are just happy that you’re back. You know that I’ve been quiet for the past… how many years? Hindi ko alam kung bakit sinasabi nilang nangingialam ako. But I don’t care because I am your mother.”
Carmina reassured her children, saying, “Kung nakialam ako, hindi mangyayari ito. So, it only means, hindi ako nakialam. So that’s why I’m so thankful because… that you’re back. ‘Yun lang ‘yun. Baka kasi malagyan na naman ng ibig sabihin… Kasi bihira lang naman na — ‘yun lang. I love you, guys. I love you so much and tatandaan n’yo lang na nandito kami ni Tatay para sa inyo. We always want what is best for you, guys. Hindi kami mga kontrabida ng buhay n’yo, kakampi n’yo kami.”
The actress’s candid remarks shed light on her unwavering support for her children’s autonomy in their romantic relationships and her commitment to being a supportive and understanding parent.
