On December 18, Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards clarified rumors that he and Sanya Lopez had dated before.
At Alden Richards’ Thanksgiving Party, which LionhearTV attended, the Kapuso actor explained that he and Lopez are good friends.
“Ay wala pong ganon. Hindi po kami nag-date.Â
“Well, nagkikita-kita po kami sa GMA, pero we’re friends, pero wala pa pong something romantic, and hindi po kami nagde-date.”
He then disclosed that he would feel ready to settle down once he deemed prepared to leave showbiz.
“Ready na po akong iwan ‘yung work ko. Ready na po akong mag-lie low. Ang hirap kasi noon, parang kasi halimbawa mag-partner ka, parang hindi ka– I’m not saying, hindi ko inuunahan ‘yung iisipin ng partner ko.Â
“But really, more of, if I want to venture into settling down stage, gusto ko nandoon ako sa family ko, gusto ko ‘yung mga anak ko, hindi ko sila– makikita ko ‘yung paglaki nila.”
He remarked that he would want to focus on his family once he feels ready to settle down.
“Kaya kapag nakikita po natin ‘yung iba po natin mga kasama sa showbiz na nagkakaanak, nawawala, and then babalik.
“Ako po kasi siguro, by the time na magka-family, mas focus ko ‘yung family ko, and then kapag may chance na lang ako babalik. Pero, family muna.”
When asked if he would take on less projects or lie low from showbiz once he gets into a relationship, Richards replied, “Ako po, parang ganon ko po siya iniisip. Hindi po, kasi may maco-compromise po ako.”
He also addressed whether he would prefer a non-showbiz partner to someone from the entertainment industry.
“Hindi ko naman po masabi, ako ayaw ko siyang pangunahan, ayaw ko siyang sabihin na ayaw ko ng showbiz or ayaw ko ng non-showbiz, come what may. So far naman ‘yung comewhat may nagwo-work naman po sa akin kaya hintayin ko na lang po.”
As for his recent projects, Alden Richards stars in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 entry ‘Family of Two.’Â
He also has an upcoming Kapuso series, Pulang Araw, with Sanya Lopez, Barbie Forteza, and David Licauco.
 He also has an upcoming directorial project with star Heaven Peralejo, ‘Out of Order’ as its working title.
