On January 21, 4th Impact member Celina got emotional while recounting broken promises from previous managers.
At the media event for the launch of their self-titled album, which LionhearTV covered, Celina could not hold back her tears while detailing their experience with past management teams that promised opportunities for the group.
“Siguro hindi po to alam ng mga tao na after X-Factor po, ang dami pong lumapit sa amin na managers and lahat po ‘yun nag-promise po sa amin that we’ll release an album, that they will put us here and there. Pero sa totoo lang po talaga, wala pong nangyari noon.
“Kasi hindi po talaga namin mashe-share ‘yung adversities, pero– hindi po kami nabigyan ng opportunity to expose ourselves after X-Factor.”
She then explained that their move to become independent artists resulted from their hopes of fixing their career paths.
“So, hindi po namin plinano na maging independent, it’s just happened that maybe na masyado po kaming mabilis mag-tiwala sa mga mabubulak-lak na salita and stuff. And now that we are independent na po, parang nag-start pa lang po kami na working na ma-fix po ‘yung career path namin.”
Consisting of sisters Almira, Irene, Mylene, and Celina Cercado, 4th Impact recently departed from their previous management and became independent artists.
She also noted that their focus now as an independent group is their family.
“Ayun po, bumabalik po talaga kami sa hindi po parang, mas marami po kaming lines and hours, hindi na po namin ‘yun iniisip kasi ang focus po namin ngayon is our family.”
As for their self-titled album, 4th Impact collaborated with the Hungarian music producer Miklos Malek, who previously worked with Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, and other international artists to produce the music on their extended playlist available through Spotify.
They also partnered with Grammy-nominated songwriter Rachel West and Greek musician NicoTheOwl in creating their songs Distorted, Round and Round, All At Once, February, and Hate That Girl.
4th Impact gained international recognition after participating in the British reality TV show The X-Factor (2015.)
