On December 2, actor Piolo Pascual discussed what kind of legacy he wants to leave behind.Â
At the media event for ‘Mallari,’ which LionhearTV covered, Pascual remarked that he wants to leave his 25-year career in the showbiz industry as his legacy.Â
“Whatever I’ve been doing in the last 25 years is the legacy [that] I’m [going to] leave behind. Hindi ko naman po ma-experience ‘yun pagkatapos, so I’m [just] working on that unconsciously and consciously [as well.] That’s why I will always want to do everything right and best foot forward at all times.”
He addressed taking on historical roles in films such as ‘Mallari’ and ‘Gomburza.’Â
“It’s not intentional, but when all of these came along, sabi ko, it’s coming from a place of gratitude. Hindi ko naman ifo-force ‘yung sarili sa isang project. So the projects that came along, nagkataon na magaganda talaga and mahirap tanggihan. So I had to make time for each.”
He also hoped that there could be more platforms actors could work in so they could tackle more stories in the future.
“So sa akin ‘yung mga ganitong opportunidad bilang actor, nakakataba ng puso. Sana mas marami pa tayong ma-inspire because of this, lumawak na ‘yung platform natin, lumawak na ‘yung accessibility.Â
“Not just for me but for the entertainment industry, to really thrive– Philippine Cinema for that matter, sana mas marami pa tayong ma-tackle na mga istorya, mga magagandang historical stories, mga ganon, para mas marami pa tayong ma-ishare sa mga audience natin at mapalaki pa natin ‘yung industriya.”
The psychological horror MMFF movie ‘Mallari’ stars Piolo Pascual, Janella Salvador, and JC Santos.Â
