MPT Mobility, the innovations arm of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), wraps up the year with impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in Baguio, reflecting the company’s steadfast commitment to transforming the communities they serve beyond mobility.
On December 15, MPT Mobility, in support of empowering women and their role in uplifting communities donated PHP 300,000 to the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) Women’s Federation of Baguio City, Inc. Recognized as a civil society group by LGU Baguio City under the supervision of City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). KALIPI was identified by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong to be one of the most needful organizations in the city.
The substantial donation, made on behalf of MPT Mobility’s key stakeholders, will be utilized to acquire equipment, including mixing bowls and peanut grinders, for KALIPI’s livelihood projects in 18 predetermined barangays. KALIPI Baguio President Lolita B. Castro expressed gratitude, emphasizing that the assistance would have a positive impact on many families. The ceremonial turnover occurred during KALIPI’s year-end general assembly, attended by representatives from the Office of the Mayor and the CSWDO.
Continuing its commitment to the Baguio community, on December 16, 2023, MPT Mobility announced a donation of PHP 300,000 to the organization Sports for Media Development during the “Heroes: The Final Push – Athletes Day” event at the Baguio Athletic Bowl.
The funds will be used to complete 75 murals showcasing past and present-day Baguio-based athletes who have brought honor and recognition to the city. Artists Gladys Labsan and Ged Alangui are set to return for the inauguration of the finished works in February 2024. MPT Mobility’s contribution was formally handed over during the event, where Baguio City Councilor Leandro B. Yangot Jr. and Engr. Leandro Tabilog, representing the Office of the Mayor, were also present. This initiative aligns with MPT Mobility’s broader belief that everyday heroes, through their dedication and hard work, can bring positive social impact to their communities.
Leo Gonzales, MPT Mobility’s Assistant Vice President for Corporate Affairs, stated, “At MPT Mobility, we believe in making a difference in the communities where we operate. Our year-end CSR initiatives in Baguio reflect our commitment to not only provide mobility solutions but also to pay homage to everyday people who bring honor and transform their communities through their sacrifice, dedication and commitment to their chosen fields.
We are proud to go beyond helping Filipinos move freely to ensure they live life to the fullest. Baguio holds a special place in our hearts, and we remain steadfast in our support to empower and uplift the local community here.”
