On December 13, actress Kylie Verzosa responded to people who perceive her as a sexy star.
At the media conference for ‘Penduko,’ which LionhearTV covered, Verzosa disagreed with opinions saying that most of her films were sexy, citing her latest movies.
“I beg to disagree that most of my films are sexy. If you watched my recent films, I did one last year with Direk Jason Paul Laxamana, Baby Boy Baby Girl na nag number one sa Amazon Prime, which didn’t have any sexy scenes at all.”
She also maintained that she wasn’t trying to be sexy with her projects and that it was all a matter of perception.
“Sometimes, it’s not my fault anymore, baka po sa pag-perceive nila, or something. But I don’t know, I don’t try to be sexy or anything. I guess it’s– I don’t know. It’s natural. I don’t try to be anything more than I am.
“Feeling ko po, kung sino mag-suot ng costume, sexy pa rin siya and feeling ko, sa personality sexy, hindi lang basta sa damit, sa pagpapakita ng katawan, it’s the way you talk, it’s the way you carry yourself.”
She then highlighted how her role in ‘Penduko’ portrayed a strong female character.
“And seeing the film, hindi po siya sobrang sexy, feeling ko nga, hindi niya alam na maganda siya, pero malakas ‘yung dating. Malakas ‘yung– she fights for something, she holds the team together, she believes in Pedro, isa siyang, for me, simple na women na hindi lang pwedeng makipag away, may mga babae na pwedeng mag-excel in different forms of let’s say martial arts.
“It’s a representation na kayang maging malakas ng mga babae, even the way I look at this, pinaghirapan po namin ‘to. It’s not that sexy lang po ‘yung tawag sa akin, I feel like I’m more than that.”
‘Penduko’ stars Matteo Guidicelli, Albert Martinez, John Arcilla, and Kylie Versoza with Mark Anthony Fernandez, Phoebe Walker, Marissa Sanchez, Candy Pangilinan, Andrea Del Rosario, Arron Villaflor, Gene Padilla, Joe Vargas, Martin Venegas, Keagan De Jesus, Kurt Delos Reyes, Tyro Daylusan, Zombie Tugue, TJ Valderrama, Jobelyn Manuel, JC Tiuseco, Andrea Babierra, and Annika Co.
