On November 15, actress Julia Barretto reacted to getting recognized as a sex symbol for the Tanduay Calendar Girl 2024.
During the media event for the Tanduay Calendar Girl 2024 launch at the Element at Centris, Quezon City, which LionhearTV covered, Barretto said she felt flattered by the remark and explained that her taking on the project was part of her growing up.
“Wow, I’m flattered, I guess. Yeah, I don’t think it bothers me so much–like I said, as you grow up, you become more confident in who you are and in your own skin. And if that translates to being [able to] inspire people to be brave and [to be] confident, and to come out of their shells, I guess I take it. It’s a compliment at the end of the day.”
She then recounted her reaction when she got the offer for Tanduay’s Calendar Girl for 2024.
“It was something that I was nervous about, but at the same time, it was something I was very excited about– because, you know, I feel like number one to have been chosen to represent the brand for 2024.
“And, of course, [I’m} excited about that and nervous [at the same time] because it means having to be[a lot] more braver in expressing myself. But more than anything, I’m just grateful. Isa siyang malaking bagay na napili po ako na gawin ito.”
She also considered it an honor to represent the brand as their Calendar Girl for 2024.
“I’m very honored, as you said, it’s the number one rum, and to be the face of it, malaki siyang karangalan para sa akin, and I hope [that] I did them proud. I hope [that] I did the team and my new family is proud of the calendar and sana maraming maging masaya at matuwa sa aming ginawa a few months ago pa.”
Tanduay had the celebrity photographer BJ Pascual to showcase Barretto’s alluring beauty for the alcoholic beverage’s 2024 calendar. She would be front and center in the number one rum’s 170th celebration for the coming year.
