During a press conference discussing the recent victory in securing the title rights for both ‘Eat Bulaga’ and ‘EB,’ Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon conveyed a mix of emotions.
Respect was the prevailing theme during the press conference, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging the decision regarding the rightful ownership of the show’s title.
“Respeto. Katulad ng respeto, kanselado. ‘Wag matigas ang ulo!” exclaimed Joey de Leon, injecting a bit of humor into his statement.
Amid laughter from the audience, it was clear that Joey’s remarks were delivered in a lighthearted manner, making light of the situation. Hahahaha! Hindi, hindi. Mas mahal namin ‘yon. Hi Vice (Ganda). Love namin `yon. Basta ABS-CBN mahal namin `yon,” Joey stated with a smile.
Joey went on to share an amusing story, describing the moment he felt like there was an earthquake upon learning about the IPO results. He also provided a playful explanation for the acronym ICON, stating that it stands for ‘I Created Our Name.’
Vic Sotto, who was unable to attend the press conference due to a sitcom taping for GMA Network, shared his experience of receiving congratulatory messages. Sabi ko, ano ba to?
While discussing legalities, the ‘E.A.T.’ team stressed the significance of moral rights. Vic humorously shared a family anecdote, highlighting a misunderstanding about a ferris wheel in Tagaytay.
In conclusion, the ‘E.A.T.’ team expressed a desire for respect from the other camp, TAPE, Inc., now that the results are out. They are prepared for potential appeals, with Atty. Buko handling legal matters.
The press conference provided insights into the multifaceted aspects of the situation, shedding light on the complexities and potential courses of action in the days ahead.
