On November 14, actress Iza Calzado highlighted how happy she felt seeing a united front with GMA Network and ABS-CBN.
At the media conference for ‘Shake, Rattle, and Roll: Extreme,’ which LionhearTV covered, Calzado first clarified that it was a tough decision for her to transfer networks in 2012.
“Sa totoo lang, I’ve always wanted to keep working with the people who literally raised me in this industry, mga naging nanay ko na. It was a tough decision I had to make for myself for my personal growth.”
She then happily remarked how excited she felt seeing GMA Network and ABS-CBN executives in the same event, noting how the entertainment landscape altered.
“Ngayon that the landscape has changed, noong nakita ko nga si Miss Annette sa ABS-CBN Ball, sabi ko, si Carlo-Annette, nasa harap ko magkasama, ano ‘to? Na parang sobrang ano ko lang na ang sarap sa pakiramdam na makitang nagkakaisa ang lahat.
“Mamaya nasa Fast Talk ako so I will be setting foot sa GMA as artista–with artista duties. Like before, I [actually] went back to visit my Nanays [there] for a few times there.”
She also addressed the possibility of her appearing in the Encantadia spin-off ‘Sang’gre’ while she is still tied with the Kapamilya Network.
“To promote Shake Rattle and Roll. But I was also at the station ID shoot of ABS-CBN because my last project was with ABS-CBN, and nandoon ako talaga ngayon.
“Pero now, lines are blurred, so I would love for it to be a collab between ABS-CBN and GMA, like what Jodi did, di ba? So ‘yung mga ganong posibilidad, para kasi sa akin ngayon, kung ano ‘yung best project, that what I will consider. Like what I said earlier, I’m intentional in the choices that I make.”
However, she maintained that her current priorities revolve around her daughter, Deia.
“Pero, of course, kung sandali lang, maari ka man lang magparamdam, bakit hindi? Pero ‘yung long term, mas iba kasi usapan ‘yan, kasi nga I’m really bound to the Deia Network. Siyempre ‘yun ‘yung number one ko, so lahat talaga. Iisa-isahin mo, kasi everything leads back to her, siya ‘yung klarong-klaro kung ano ‘yung oo at hindi.”
As for her upcoming horror movie, the three-part film ‘Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Extreme’ features three episodes, ‘Mukbang,’ ‘Rage,’ and ‘Glitch.’
