On November 30, actress Heaven Peralejo remarked she doesn’t see herself as a sex symbol.
During the media event at the Westin in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, which LionhearTV covered, Peralejo maintained that her newest endorsement with Ginebra San Miguel as their 2024 Calendar Girl stands for empowering women rather than introducing her as a ‘sex symbol.’
“I don’t even think that my Calendars are too sexy. I think it’s just about empowering women–and what it stands for, ‘yun naman ang nagustuhan ko sa Ginebra, kasi they never made me that, they took care of me and what I stand for also, being like you know, fun, I can also represent the festivals, so no, hindi ko naman naisip ‘yun.”
She then cited that being sexy means being confident without sacrificing someone’s health.
“Sa akin, it’s more about how you present yourself– how you feel about yourself, and if you are confident enough na hindi mo ginugutom ‘yung sarili mo, you’re putting the right food in your body, and that’s sexy. There are so many forms of being sexy pero hindi ko na ‘yun malilista.”
As for her endorsement, Peralejo revealed her physical preparations, especially her workout and her diet regimen.
“So I was given two months of preparation, which parang ako, sobrang thank you, I’ve been doing Muay Thai, I’ve been doing workouts, running, walking, every day. Basta iba-iba, tennis.
“Yes, actually, I did OMAD, which is one meal a day. Pero now, parang ako, my body wants to eat parang properly, parang di sa akin nag-wo-work ‘yung OMAD, so you know, doon ko rin nakita kung ano ‘yung tama para sa katawan ko. Hindi ko rin naman ginutom ang sarili ko, I am eating vegetables and everything like that.”
Peralejo’s prominent roles include ‘Nananahimik ang Gabi,’ which got her the Philippines’ Best Actress award from the Asian Academy Creative Awards.
As for her newest endorsement, she considered being Ginebra San Miguel’s 2024 Calendar Girl a dream come true for her career.
