The midday ratings competition has taken a new turn, with TVJ’s ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ and the Kapamilya noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ emerging as the frontrunners, pushing TAPE Inc.’s ‘Eat Bulaga!’ into the third position.
The most recent Nielsen NUTAM People survey reveals that ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ continues to lead the noontime slot, with ‘It’s Showtime’ following closely in second place and ‘Eat Bulaga!’ trailing in third.
As of Tuesday, December 19, ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ secured a 4.3 percent rating, claiming the 12th spot in the overall ratings chart. ‘It’s Showtime’ trailed with a 3.7 percent rating, while ‘Eat Bulaga!’ slipped to third place with a 3.3 percent rating.
The trend continued on Wednesday, December 20, with ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ maintaining its top position with a 4.1 percent rating. ‘It’s Showtime’ held onto second place, improving slightly to 3.8 percent. Meanwhile, ‘Eat Bulaga!’ remained in the third spot, registering a 3.7 percent rating.
Before this shift, ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ and ‘Eat Bulaga!’ were the longstanding leaders in the noontime rankings.
However, a significant development occurred on Saturday, December 16, when ‘It’s Showtime’ achieved a historic victory in the noontime race since the ABS-CBN shutdown. The Kapamilya noontime show garnered a rating of 4.5 percent, surpassing rivals ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ at 4.2 percent and ‘Eat Bulaga!’ at 2.9 percent.
