Following TVJ’s triumph in their trademark case, the noontime show ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ witnessed a widening gap against its archrival, ‘Eat Bulaga!’.
As per the latest rating reports from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ began to distance itself from its competitor following IPOPHIL’s decision favoring TVJ’s petition against TAPE Inc.’s registration of the ‘Eat Bulaga’ and ‘EB’ trademarks.
On Wednesday, December 6, a day after the decision, ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ secured a rating of 5.0 percent, surpassing ‘Eat Bulaga!’ by 1.2 percent, which stood at 3.8 percent.
The following day, Thursday, December 7, TVJ’s noontime show maintained a substantial lead of 1.0 percent, registering a rating of 4.3 percent compared to its rival’s 3.3 percent.
On Friday, December 8, ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ sustained its leadership, achieving a score of 4.3 percent against ‘Eat Bulaga!’s’ 3.8 percent.
Starting the week on Monday, December 11, ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ began with a 0.6 percent lead over ‘Eat Bulaga!’, recording 4.0 percent versus 3.4 percent.
Its lead increased to 1.1 percent on Tuesday, December 12, with ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’ scored 4.3 percent against ‘Eat Bulaga’s’ 3.2 percent.
Despite maintaining their respective ratings of 4.3 percent and 3.2 percent on Wednesday, December 13, the two shows continued to uphold their gap.
This trend suggests that ‘E.A.T. Bulaga’s not only prevailed in the trademark case but also captured the attention of viewers, as evidenced by its expanding lead over its archrival.
