On December 19, actress Cherry Pie Picache highlighted how warm GMA Network was in welcoming her in the movie ‘Firefly.’
At the media conference for ‘Firefly,’ which LionhearTV covered, Picache first noted the collaboration of networks and artists recently, citing how it helped artists, especially after the pandemic.
“Oo naman actor naman tayo di ba? Ganon naman ang artista, pwede kahit saang– lalo na ngayon.
“I mean everybody is collaborating, everybody is just working, siyempre bumabawi pa tayo sa pandemya. So siyempre, kung saan may project, di ba kung saan meron, doon tayo.”
She then appreciated the warm welcome and care GMA Network provided her on the set of ‘Firefly.’
“Sobra, sobrang maalaga, sobrang welcoming, you know, they’re very warm. Sobrang nagpapasalamat nga ako. Noong una nga lang siyempre nakakapanibago kasi hindi ko pa kilala ang mga tao. Lalo na ako when I work.
“Siyempre I establish a relationship parang pamilya na ‘yan, eh sa tinagal-tagal ko na sa ABS, siyempre parang pamilya na. Siyempre when I work na with ano, siyempre GMA Public Affairs pa, so parang talagang, ‘Oh my Gosh, wala akong masyadong kilala.’
“They’re so warm, they’re so welcoming, and they really took care of us. So ang sarap.”
Picache thanked GMA Network and their director Zig Dulay for including her in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 movie.
“Nakakapanibago kasi for the past what–a decade. Halos lahat ng ginagawa kong trabaho sa ABS ganyan, or sa independent ‘yung ganyan, pero hindi ito yung una kong GMA Films. Pero nagpapasalamat ako, I feel really grateful na napasama ako sa pelikula.
“Kasi, for one nga, ang ganda-ganda ng script. Na sinabi ko ‘yun kay Direk Zig. Nagpapasalamat ako kay Direk Zig Dulay, kasi he’s the first one who invited me talaga eh.”
As for ‘Firefly,’ the MMFF 2023 movie from GMA Public Affairs stars Alessandra de Rossi, Euwann Mikaell, Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Yayo Aguila, Max Collins, and Cherry Pie Picache with a special participation from Dingdong Dantes.
Under the direction of Zig Dulay, ‘Firefly’ opens in cinemas on December 25.
