On November 3, ‘Broken Hearts Trip’ cast members Christian Bables, Andoy Ranay, Petite, and Iya Mina discussed why their film became an entry for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023.

At the media conference for ‘Broken Hearts Trip,’ which LionhearTV covered, Ranay noted the diversity of the cast and how it reflects the initiative of the MMFF to be more inclusive.

“Sa akin, it’s also the diversity of the casting– the casting itself is very diverse. I mean the usual nakukuha ay ‘yung mga malalaking artista. But this time, I believe the MMDA, di ba sila ‘yung namili, also may ibang mga tao, siguro diversity din noong mga films na kasama sa festival.

“Because it’s a festival di ba? Iba’t-ibang klase, iba’t-ibang putahe, tsaka Pasko, ito mayroong maiihandog ang Metro Manila Film Fest for the LGBT, mayroon tayong pelikula para sa inyo ngayon Pasko. Parang nagiging inclusive naman sila, I believe isa ‘yun sa mga dahilan kung bakit napili ang The Broken Hearts Trip.”

Bables cited how the film would help their audience with their journey of pain and healing.

“‘Yung factor na we’d promise to make people happy and at the same time, realize something about themselves, about their pain, about their healing. We hope maiparating namin ‘yun sa mga manonood nitong MMFF 2023 entry namin na The Broken Hearts Trip.”

Petite attributed their entry into the MMFF to prayers and hardwork.

“Ako siguro, kaya nakapasok ‘to, naniniwala ako, prayers, ‘yung pinagdasal ko talaga ‘to.

Mina pointed to the relatability of ‘Broken Hearts Trip’ to the general audience.

The film’s director, Lemuel Lorca, surmised that they became an official entry for MMFF 2023 because of the relatability of their movie.

As for their MMFF 2023 entry, ‘Broken Hearts Trip’ stars Andoy Ranay, Christian Bables, Petite, Iyah Mina, Teejay Marquez, Marvin Yap, Tart Carlos, and Jaclyn Jose.

Under the direction of Lemuel Lorca, ‘The Broken Hearts Trip’ opens in cinemas on December 25.
