After a hiatus of nine years from teleserye projects, Kapamilya host-actress Anne Curtis is making a much-anticipated return to the small screen.
The actress will be the lead in the Philippine adaptation of the popular Korean drama ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,’ alongside Carlo Aquino and Joshua Garcia.
The story of ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ revolves around Moon Kang Tae, a dedicated community health worker in a psychiatric ward who finds little room for romance, and Go Moon Young, a accomplished children’s-book author marked by antisocial behavior and a past devoid of love. As their lives intertwine, they embark on a journey of mutual emotional healing.
Initially linked to Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, the project faced setbacks due to the ABS-CBN shutdown and the dissolution of the LizQuen love team.
Anne’s last leading role in a teleserye was in ‘Mars Ravelo’s Dyesebel’ in 2014.
The announcement of ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ was part of ABS-CBN’s 2024 lineup, unveiled during its Christmas Special at the Araneta Coliseum on December 13.
Among other shows slated by ABS-CBN for the upcoming year are ‘The Bag Man,’ ‘Pamilya Sagrado,’ ‘Pinoy Big Brother,’ and ‘The Voice Teens.’
