On December 2, Kawit Cavite Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo remarked that he wanted to make their Christmas celebration memorable for Kawiteños and Filipinos searching for new holiday destinations.
At a press event, which LionhearTV attended with selected media, Mayor Aguinaldo highlighted his goal of introducing Kawit’s holiday-themed event to all Filipinos.
He also referred to the Christmas lights display at Freedom Park as ‘Instagram-mable.’
He then listed some tourist spots he would personally recommend to visitors.
Also present during the media event were Kawit Cavite Municipal Admin Engr Rey Santos, Councilor Armie Aguinaldo, Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo, Public Information Officer Matthew Juganas, and Councilor Jerry Jarin.
For Kawit’s holiday celebration, the municipal government established Paskuhan sa Kawit, featuring a unique mix of modern Christmas decor and lighting in their historical monument in the province, the Aguinaldo Shrine and Freedom Park.
Kawit’s Local Government Unit (LGU) opened the holiday-themed shrine and park on November 18 via a concert event featuring artists such as Gessie K., Nef Medina, and Agsunta.
The LGU announced the Christmas display would be open to visitors from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM to accommodate Las Tiendas customers and those attending the time-honored tradition of Simbang Gabi.
