Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) Economic Estates reaffirmed its leadership in industrial estate development, securing four awards at the 18th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards. AIC was honored as the “Best Industrial Developer in Asia” for the third consecutive year, underscoring its position as a top developer in the region.
The recognition from PropertyGuru Group highlights AIC’s dedication to pioneering smart and sustainable industrial estates, contributing to the Philippines’ global competitiveness and stature as a premier investment destination.
Expressing gratitude for these achievements, Rafael Fernandez de Mesa, AIC Economic Estates Head, stated, “We extend our sincere thanks to PropertyGuru Group for recognizing our endeavors through these prestigious awards.
These fuel our drive to push the boundaries in industrial development and to further work with our government leaders and industry partners to bring about economic progress, not just within the Philippines, but across the broader Asian region.”
Over the past decade, AIC has been continuously expanding its Economic Estates’ footprint across the country and has developed thriving ecosystems, attracting both local and global leaders of industry in automotive components and wire harness, in electronics and semiconductor, in medical technologies, in printers, motorcycle production, and food and beverage, among many others.
LIMA Estate in Batangas has expanded significantly from 374 hectares in 2013 to 826 hectares today, with ongoing development aimed at doubling the existing footprint. Simultaneously, West Cebu Estate in Cebu is undergoing a 39-hectare industrial expansion, with a new central business district underway as well.
These initiatives align seamlessly with AIC’s dedication to making substantial contributions to the economic vibrancy of the country. Not only do they aim to generate jobs and provide livelihoods for individuals and their families, but they also forecast positive impacts on both local and national economies. Notably, AIC has successfully attracted over 200 companies, employing more than 100,000 Filipinos to date—an evident testament to the success of investments in the country.
In the coming months, the organization is set to unveil a 200-hectare Economic Estate in Tarlac City, scheduled for launch in the first half of 2024. This expansion will introduce the organization’s distinctive approach to smart and sustainable industrial development, anchoring progress in Central Luzon.
“We strive to replicate the achievements witnessed in Batangas and Cebu, drawing in additional manufacturing companies, along with local businesses looking to expand their presence in the Central Luzon market,” expressed Fernandez de Mesa.
As AIC commemorates its recognition at the 18th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, solidifying its leadership in industrial estate development across the Philippines and Asia, the organization looks ahead to future endeavors. AIC maintains its mission to shape a brighter future for the Philippines through innovative and sustainable industrial development, positioning itself as a catalyst for the advancement of both local and national economies.
