On October 25, new artist Zombie Tugue recounted how he used Google Translate to understand the Tagalog script for ‘Penduko.’
At the media conference for ‘Penduko,’ which LionhearTV covered, Tugue detailed how he got the role in the upcoming action-fantasy movie.
“So paano ang preparation ko, actually, may dumating na text, Zombie, kasama ka daw sa Pedro Penduko, sabi ko Diyos ko, paano ‘to. Di ako marunong magbasa ng Tagalog, paano ‘to.
“Actually, parang dalawang araw, hindi po ako natulog, inisip ko, bakit anong mayroon sa script ‘yan. So tapos, pagdating script, ay wow, tatlo pala ‘yung mga scenes ko. Sabi ko okay, kaya ko ‘to.”
He then narrated how he used Google to fully translate his Tagalog lines to English and understand his part in the movie.
“Binasa ko ‘yung mga script ko, tapos lahat, pumunta ako sa Google para mag-translate ako, English Vs. Tagalog translator. So lahat ng mga scenes ko diyan nag-translate ako, lahat. Nag-practice ako, nag-translate lahat-lahat para maintindihan ko talaga kung ano ‘yung istorya.”
Admittedly, he encountered some difficulty in pronouncing some Filipino words.
“Tapos may mga words din diyan na medyo mahirap mag-pronounce, mga naalalanganin. May ganon, mga ganyan ang tounge-twister meron talaga, pero mabuti si Direk pinakita niya talaga, ‘Ay mahirap nga kay Zombie.’ Pinalitan ni Direk.”
He then hinted at his role in the upcoming movie and thanked the Viva for giving him the opportunity.
“Tapos magiging gangster ako sa show, pati ‘yung mukha ni Matteo binugbog ko, lahat sinaktan ko, lahat, pero– pati ‘yung laway ko, ganon.
“Ayarn, maraming salamat po, thank you for the opportunity. I appreciate it. Maraming salamat.”
