After working together as a pair for five years in ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,’ Yassi Pressman and Coco Martin are now set to compete in prime time starting November 6.
Coco Martin stars in ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ which is currently the #1 most-watched program in the Philippines, while Yassi Pressman’s comeback teleserye on GMA Network, ‘Black Rider,’ will begin on the same date.
During the media conference for ‘Black Rider’ on Friday, October 27, 2023, Yassi was asked if she bid farewell to Coco before accepting the action series.
Yassi replied, “Nagpasabi po ako. Hindi pa po kami nagkikita po. Sinabi ko rin, siyempre, nagkakamustahan kami kapag may nakikita akong mga tao na kasama doon sa show.”
She expressed her gratitude to ABS-CBN as when she informed Cory Vidanes about her decision, she was immediately granted permission.
“I’m very very grateful na binigay niya po yung blessing na gawin ko po itong project na ito,” the actress revealed. “Ngayon naman po, sinabi nga po kanina, wala na pong network wars, kaya very, very grateful po talaga na merong mga trabaho. At the end of the day, siyempre kailangan din nating magtrabaho para dun sa pamilya natin. And, most of all, siyempre, I think it’s a good way to challenge also to do even better.
“Siyempre, lagi ko pa rin pong pinapanood ang Batang Quiapo, at siyempre ang buong pamilya ko po dun, sina Coco, napakagagaling pa rin naman po talaga. Sobra! It’s a good challenge din po para sa akin,” Yassi added.
