Korean singer-songwriter Summer Soul and Korean R&B artist Jeebanoff have released a collaborative single ‘Mirror’.
‘Mirror’ is a song about a couple who resembles each other so much that it ends up hurting. At the beginning of the relationship, the two are attracted to each other because of how much they fit together, but because they know each other so well, they end up becoming more greedy and selfish, and are not treating each other right.
The lyrics, “There’s spitting image of myself yeah, you’re showing me all of my imperfections”, capture the essence of the song, a duet where Summer Soul and Jeebanoff play the role of each side of the couple, singing out their heartfelt feelings to each other, where they are stuck in a relationship that they know cannot be improved.
Summer Soul is a singer-songwriter based in Seoul, South Korea. She debuted with her first single ‘How Beautiful’ in 2018, followed by ‘Kill Your Darling’, a collaboration with producer Charming Lips, which currently has over 2.6 million streams on Spotify. By the end of 2018, she released two more singles ‘I Feel Love’ and ‘Barefoot’.
Summer Soul is no stranger to collaborations, having had works with several Korean artists, including rapper JUSTHIS on her 2020 track ‘Tinder’, as well as a recent collaboration with solo artist Jueun on ‘Ride’.
