On October 6, Kapuso artist Shuvee Etrata considered Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray her role model and inspiration.
At the media event for her month-long episode for ‘Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko Presents: Captain Kitten,’ Etrata remarked how Gray does everything from the heart, which inspired the young Kapuso star.
“Personally, si Catriona Gray talaga ‘yung role model ko ever since I was a child. Kaya kasi nakikita ko sa kaniya, she does everything from the heart. So growing up, siya talaga ‘yung naging inspiration ko with who I am now as a person.”
She then talked about her experience in the beauty pageant circuit, noting how she pondered the possibility of following in Gray’s footsteps.
“Before po, Hiyas ng Pilipinas, ako po ‘yung representative ng Batayan Island and Miss Bantayan din po ako. So, ‘yun po ‘yung ano ko.
“I thought, that was my calling po. Noong last year, noong mag-audition ako sa GMA Network, tinanong ako kung ano pong gusto ko, ang sagot ko po, gusto ko maging Miss Universe, ‘yun sabi ko sa kanila.”
She then clarified that she was still young and enjoying her acting career with GMA Network.
“I’m really young pa naman po ngayon, I’m 21 pa lang naman, so siguro po, two years from now, three years from now, I get to– I don’t know po. Siguro po with the help of GMA Network, mapupuntahan ko ‘yung path na ‘yun. Pero right now po, just like Jillian, I’m enjoying the craft of acting po.”Â
Her recent project, ‘Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko Presents: Captain Kitten,’ features Jillian Ward with Shuvee Etrata, Kim Perez, Gabby Eigenmann, Archie Alemania, and Angela Alarcon.
Under the direction of Rico Gutierrez, ‘Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko: Captain Kitten’ airs every Saturday at 6:15 PM via GMA Network after 24 Oras Weekend.
