On November 21, Silent Sanctuary member Raymund ‘Sarkie’ Sarangay detailed how the group came up with the concept of their short film Kahimanawari.
At the media event for Kahimanawari, which LionhearTV covered, Sarangay remarked that they began conceptualizing the short film after they completed the songs they wanted for their Spotify Extended playlist.
So ‘yun po.”
He also talked about the production process for the Kahimanawari short film.
Their director, Niokz Arcega, cited his music video and filmmaking background in creating the short film.
“The main idea for this one is to create, kasi kapag music video, normal na ‘yung nasa awkward zone ka eh. Eh, ako galing ako sa music videos talaga, then nag-transition ako into full-length films, festival films, sabi ko bakit hindi pwedeng magsama ‘yung dalawa sa isang konsepto na music video, pero ‘yung paggawa mo sa kaniya ay parang isang pelikula.”
Silent Sanctuary band members Ronnie Ropal, Allen Calixto, Kim Mirandilla-Ng, Raymund Sarangay, Poch Villalon, and Anjo Inacay were present at the launch of their short film.
Kahimanawari Spotify Playlist include Mahiwaga, Alay, Hanabi, Wala Nang Iba, and Sa Kabilang Buhay and came out October 6, 2023.
The short film features Khiester Bernardino, Pat Gaspar, and Sheldon Cruz under the direction of Niokz Arcega.
