Melai Cantiveros recounts realizations after portraying a policewoman in ‘Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul.’
On November 10, Kapamilya star Melai Cantiveros recounted her realizations after portraying a policewoman in her movie, ‘Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul.’
At the media event for ‘Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul,’ which LionhearTV covered, Cantiveros highlighted the challenges police officers face when fulfilling their duties on a daily basis.
She then remarked how her action-comedy movie would help humanize the police force in the country.
As for her experience filming with a South Korean film production crew, Cantiveros emphasized the differences in the work culture between the Philippines and South Korea.
Sobra na ‘yung to work in 10 hours. And ‘yung hours na ‘yun, nakatayo lang sila, ‘yung mga crew, they’re very dedicated to their work.
Napaganon sila, the best.”
She also praised the cast and crew’s commitment to their jobs.
“And pinaka-na-amaze ako, ‘yung assistant director, namin si Miss Sara, minsan kasi ‘yung assistant director natin dito, talagang sigaw, doon sa kanila, ‘It’s Okay, can we go back?’ Very polite.
“Tapos doon sa amin, edi uulan, nandoon kami sa tent, sabi ko, ‘You sit, you sit.’ Kasi uulan eh, stop taping, walang scene, dahil ‘yung sa ulan. Sabi nila, ‘No, because our boss is tending.’
“So na-amaze ako sa kung paano nila respetuhin at kung paano sila mag-work, so in 8 to 10 hours, nakatayo lang sila, para after noon pack up na, kasi work is work, at alam nila ang ginagawa nila ha.”
