On October 26, TV5 artist Maoui David revealed why she left showbiz 15 years ago.
In a LioneharTV exclusive interview with the newest hosts of TV5’s ‘Good Morning Kapatid,’ David disclosed about her pregnancy at 19 years old, which led her to leave showbiz.
“Ang nangyari po kasi ng time na ‘yun, nabuntis ako so I had a baby. Eh noong time na ‘yun medyo kontrobersyal pa. I was 19– nabuntis ako, so nanganak po ako at 20, so kumbaga dati nasa Star Magic po ako na dati tinatawag nating talent center.”
She also detailed her life outside of showbiz as a mother, a wife, and a working-class citizen in the U.S.
“So naging nanay po ako for my three children, and then I got married also, ‘yung Daddy ng kids ko. Nag-America din po ako, bumalik po ako doon, nagtrabaho din po ako ng regular na trabaho sa Casino. So ang daming naganap sa buhay ko pero for the most part, majority, nag-alaga po ako ng mga kids ko, hatid-sundo, full time mom. Tapos nagbu-business din po kami.”
Aside from life in the U.S., she also talked about her venture into social media as an influencer before joining News5.
“Tapos ‘yun hanggang sa nag-America na rin ako. Tapos ito po, I had more children, I got married. So ito, full time mom na ako, tapos bigla akong napa-audition po ako dito sa news. Nag-audition po ako for news alerts tapos hanggang sa nakuha po tayo, tapos ito nagbunga po. Â
“Influencer work, gumagawa din ako, hanggang ngayon. Kaya tulad nga ng tanong kanina, about being active po sa mga social media. Ayun active na rin po tayo doon, dahil nga sa influencer work natin.”
David was part of the Star Circle Batch 10 with Bea Alonzo, Dennis Trillo, and many more. Her previous projects include ‘My First Romance,’ ‘Marina,’ and ‘All About Love.’
As for ‘Good Morning Kapatid,’ the morning show features Dimples Romana and Maoui David as the newest hosts of the Kapatid Morning Show. They would join Jes Delos Santos, Chiqui Roa-Puno, Justin Quirino Dr. Dex Macalintal, and Atty. Buko Dela Cruz in bringing lively mornings to TV5 viewers.
