On October 10, the Danish pop band Lukas Graham vocalist Lukas Forchhammer highlighted the lively personality of Filipino audiences.
At the media event for their upcoming concert ‘Lukas Graham: Asia 2023,’ which LionhearTV covered, Forchhammer noted the difference between Pinoy audiences and Danish concertgoers.
“The Filipino audience, the last time I was there, they were really lively and very engaging, and I look forward to experiencing that again.”
He then recounted his first impression of the Philippines when their band had a concert in the country in 2019.
“I mean, very, very nice people. My first time, well, my only time in the Philippines was just four amazing days, meeting really amazing people, and eating terrific food.”
He discussed the Filipino fruits and dishes he liked when they visited the country.
“Where I’m from, we don’t have as [nice] fruit as you guys have. It’s usually [very] cold out here. So yeah– when I was in the Philippines, I [was enjoying] [a lot] of the tropical fruits [that] you guys have. I mean all the people that I’ve met. Yeah, it was a very [nice,] and welcoming culture.”
He mentioned Bagoong and Lumpia among his favorite Filipino foods.
“I think it’s the condiment Bagoong. I think it’s just a wonderful little thing. It goes really well with everything. And I mean, you know, there are several Philippine dishes you can get outside of the Philippines –like the Lumpia, is really easy to get or to make.”
He also noted that he wanted to try Balut.
“But then, one thing [that] I haven’t tried yet that I have to try the next time is the Balut.”
Forchhammer then remarked about introducing Filipino food to his bandmates when they return to the country.
“I’m also expecting a lot of really, really good food. I look forward to introducing the rest of my band to some Filipino food.”
The Danish band Lukas Graham includes Lukas Forchhammer, Mark Falgren, and Magnus Larsson. They’ve released hit songs such as ‘7 Years’ and ‘Love Someone.’
